Pioneering in VR

You, kids of today, with your Oculus and Vives and all your VR thingies maybe don't remember that in the old 2014, VR was not as common as is it now. This project was the second time a Spanish brand made something interesting in 360ยบ (btw, first time was also ours and you can find it at the end of this page).

Your first day in the team

Core idea was an app where you could live one day inside the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team. You were a rookie pilot. Some technicians gave you tips and Jorge Lorenzo challenged you to a one-lap race. By rotating your phone, you could watch everything around you, making you feel that you were there.

Customized VR set

We also did our version of the Google Cardboard headset so everyone could live the experience in their own smartphones.

Launch videos

Before we released the app, we warmed up our social channels with some teaser videos.

Bonus

At the beginning of this page I promised you to show you the first VR spanish experience. Here it is. The idea was quite similar: we worked with the spanish football team to make you feel as part of them. You could train with them and even take the field in an official match with the team.

Instead of using a smartphone app, in this first project we had to limit ourselves to a few Oculus Rift Development Kits that we had to take to events, but we learned a lot that we'd later apply to the MotoGP project.
